The book "Pokrzywnice, dziwaczki, straszydła. Sztuka Liliany Zeic" (Pokrzywnice, Dziwaczki, Straszydła. The Art of Liliana Zeic), edited by Piotr Lisowski and published by 66P, is the first comprehensive publication analyzing Liliana Zeic's artistic activity. It combines critical essays with rich illustrative material, a chronology, and a bibliography. The authors examine key areas of her practice: feminism, queerness, ecology, and activism.
An important part of the book is devoted to the artist's research projects, including "Książki źródeł" (Books of Sources) – an archive of non-normative women's history, which was started in 2020 and is constantly being developed. The monograph also includes an essay devoted to Zeic's latest solo exhibition, organized by 66P in 2025 – The First Year They Sleep, the Second Year They Sneak (curator: Piotr Lisowski).
The book is also the first comprehensive attempt in Poland to describe queer ecology in artistic practice. It shows how Zeic's work combines reflection on gender identity and sexuality with studies of nature, and how art can become a tool for dialogue and real social change. Combining artistic and activist practices, Liliana Zeic explores language, analyzes legislative processes, supports grassroots initiatives, participates in demonstrations, and collects stories and experiences of marginalized individuals and communities.
The meeting will be an opportunity to talk about engaged art, archives of resistance, and imagination that transcends norms.
