An overprotective mom? Check. A silent dad? Check. A creative crisis and a constant feeling of unfulfillment? Check!

Arek Pasożyt really has his work cut out for him. To break free from his dead-end situation, he decides to take a trip to the Tatra Mountains for the first time in his life. There, he stumbles upon a clue to the largest painting in Polish history – the monumental (115x16m!) Panorama of the Tatra Mountains, lost over 130 years ago. He resolves to find it.

Arek cycles through the charming villages of Podhale and climbs the Tatra ridges. During his search, he battles the August sun, the fragility of human memory, and a faulty camping stove. As he uncovers more pieces of the puzzle, he learns more and more not only about the history of years past but also about himself.

With his mother watching his every move, a lack of understanding from the art world, and his own doubts, does Arek have a chance to achieve something as great as the painting he’s searching for?

Arek.Mama.Panorama is a tender, humor-filled portrait of a man fighting for his dreams, in which everyone will find a piece of themselves.

The film premiered at Millennium Docs Against Gravity, in the official selection of the Polish Competition.
