Alpha
Thirteen-year-old Alpha, who lives with her single mother, returns home from a party with an illegally done tattoo. This seemingly insignificant situation turns her life upside down.
Alpha is the most personal and poignant film in the career of Julia Ducournau, winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes for Titane. It is a subtle, yet genre-defying portrait of a 13-year-old girl on the cusp of adulthood and her mother, who is trying to find her place in a changing relationship with her maturing child.
