A SENIOR'S CULTURAL WEEKEND 2026
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Senior Culture Weekend is a unique project that encourages seniors to actively participate in cultural life, promotes their integration and engagement, and makes it easier for them to discover the rich offerings of local cultural institutions.
The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw cordially invites you to guided tours of current exhibitions led by the Modern Seniors Club. During these sessions, Club members will share their reflections and stories about the works on display. The Club has been active at the Museum for several years, and its members are people who not only follow the world of contemporary art with enthusiasm but also actively participate in the city’s cultural life.
The meetings have an open format—participants are encouraged to actively engage in discussions, ask questions, and share their insights. This is a unique opportunity to view art from a different perspective through intergenerational dialogue and the exchange of experiences. The guided tours are not only an educational experience but also a space for shared reflection on art and its role in everyday life. “Senior Culture Weekend” is a unique project that encourages seniors to actively participate in cultural life, promotes their integration and engagement, and makes it easier for them to discover the rich offerings of local cultural institutions. This year marks the thirteenth edition of the Senior Culture Weekend. With each successive edition, both the number of institutions involved in the initiative and the number of seniors who, thanks to their participation, have the opportunity to explore offerings prepared by senior centers and local activity centers, theaters, museums, galleries, libraries, and other cultural institutions. For many of them, it is also an opportunity to discover valuable projects they had not previously encountered.

This year, the Senior Citizens’ Weekend with Culture will take place on the first weekend of October, i.e., October 3–4, 2026. As in every edition, we encourage cultural institutions to prepare a special program or offer free admission to cultural venues, reduce ticket prices to a nominal fee, or propose activities tailored specifically to participants.
Year after year, we’re expanding the circle of institutions joining the project. We believe we’ve created a unique celebration of accessible culture that welcomes all audiences. On this special weekend of the year, let’s join forces to create a wonderful sense of community and reach out to older adults, who are often at risk of exclusion or loneliness.
