Things to Think About

In June of this year, the sixth edition of the Barbara Skarga Prize Philosophical Essay Contest was announced—this time under the theme “Why Democracy?” Entries for the contest may be submitted until May 10, 2027. The winners will be announced in October 2027 during a gala ceremony at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

While we await the competition entries, we invite you to a series of monthly lectures and discussions devoted to philosophical reflection on the most important issues that are already shaping the present and may also shape our immediate future. We will discuss, among other things, social affects and emotions, fascism, war, and the status of science and reason. It will also be an opportunity to meet participants from previous editions of the Contest.
