Performance, Galeria Studio, 1982 (1-4/4)

Undertaking hard decision of performing at the Gallery Studio during martial law, Andrzej Partum has consciously broken the boycott, applied by artistic environments in all the country on cultural institutions managed by martial authorities. On 16 March 1982 Partum, at that time unemployed and having no income, was sitting at a served table among his friends, in particular, Dorota Monkiewicz and Jacek Kryszkowski, with tiredness written on his face. The situation was viewed by a small group of acquainted artists and friends from the circle.

Deprived of energy and dynamics, the sitting performance of social nature illustrates social state during the first months of martial law.
