Galeria Znak (1-3/3)

The author’s Znak Gallery was established in 1973 by Janusz Szczucki. Until 1979 it was located in the tower of Branicki Palace in Białystok under the auspices of the Białystok Friends of Fine Arts Association. It cooperated closely with Henryk Gajewski.

From 1981 to June 1982, i.e. the moment of the discontinuation of its activity, it functioned in the Białystok Arsenal Gallery under the auspices of the Office of Art Exhibitions, Association of Polish Artistic Photographers. The aim of the Gallery was the presentation of a wide range of artistic activities within the actual art. The Gallery kept an archive of art publications, conducted exhibition and editorial activity, organised conferences, performances, lectures, film screenings, it functioned within the area of contemporary art culture. It was managed by Janusz Szczucki.
