Trace Gallery (1-12/12)

Author’s Trace Gallery in Łódź conducted its activity in the years 1979 – 1987. It was established and managed by the art historian Janusz Zagrodzki. Initially, the Trace Gallery was located in the House of Creative Communities Association in Łódź, whereas during martial law it was transferred to the private apartment of its founder. The gallery has fairly soon become one of the places forming the independent art movement in Poland. The programme of the gallery involved cyclical exhibitions and publishing of prints accompanying the presentations. One of the significant aims of the gallery was to follow and comment on important themes in the global art, whereas an ambition – to invite great artists. The Trace Gallery featured the works of such artists as: Adam Adamski, Wojciech Bruszewski, Andrzej Ciesielski, Andrzej Chętko, Witosław Czerwonka, Milan Grygar, Taka Iimura, Andrzej Janaszewski, Elżbieta Kalinowska, Wolf Kahlen, Paweł Kwiek, Natalia LL, Edward Łazikowski, Dora Maurer, Antoni Mikołajczyk, Andrzej Partum, Friedrike Pezold, Józef Piwkowski, Janusz Połom, Józef Robakowski, Andrzej Różycki, Zygmunt Rytka, Jerzy Treliński, Zbigniew Warpechowski, Ryszard Waśko, Krzysztof Zarębski, T Group.
