The project "Making Use: Life in Postartistic Times", focusing on the interweaving of art and other spheres of life in the search for the coefficient of art outside of institutionalized art, is coming to an end.

The last days of the exhibition are accompanied by intensive program, brought together under the term “Usology Roundtable”. The curatorial team of the exhibition invites you to participate in lectures, walks, workshops, discussion panels, and a three-sided football match.

April 23, 24

Brian Holmes and Claire Pentecost, from Chicago USA, will present the long-term investigative walking project Continental Drift (April 23), and then invite participants to plan a Warsaw itinerary for the next day (April 24).

April 27

Suhail Malik, Co-Director of the MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths University, will give a lecture about the tension between formal and informal institutionalism and the mechanisms causing art to strengthen the elite.

April 28

Neil Cummings, Professor of Practice and Theory of Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, will lead an all-day interactive workshop designed to discuss the possible models of a museum 3.0 (Please reserve your spot).

April 29

On April 29, a Usology Roundtable will be held, concluding the research program accompanying the exhibition. Participants in the session will include Stephen Wright (writer, theoretician, and “shadow curator” of Making Use), Ivet Curlin (member of the Croatian curatorial collective WHW, responsible for the preparation of the Really Useful Knowledge show in 2014), Alistair Hudson (Director of mima Middlesbrough, whose program is based on the Useful Museum concept), Marianne Zamecznik and Charlotte Bik Bandlien (founders of the Institutt for Bruk/Department of Usology at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts), and Making Use curators Sebastian Cichocki and Kuba Szreder.

April 30

On the April 30, a three-sided football match will be played on Plac Defilad in Warsaw, a philosophical and political game alluding to three-valued logic and political-artistic notions of the situationist movement.

May 1

On the last day of the exhibition, May 1, 2016, a curatorial guided tour will take place alongside a meeting with Yael Bartana, artist and the founder of Jewish Renaissance Movement in Poland.
