Jimmie Durham (born 1940)
Jimmie Durham (born 1940, Washington, Arkansas) is a sculptor, poet, and activist
for the American Indian Movement. Durham’s artistic works often combine
found objects, handwritten texts, drawings, and totems, creating the illusion of an
encounter with the art of some “unknown tribe” from beyond time and world art
history.
