An individual artist since 1966, Tomasz Machciński, a self-taught person using photography as a medium for his art, has created a unique piece of art, being a conscious performance work. The artist, living in Kalisz, has made a total work of art of his own life. As he says himself: I am a piece of art!

Throughout 30 years of work he has created 18 thousand self-portraits, in which he impersonated into thousands of real and imaginary characters. In particular, Machciński has been Mother Theresa from Calcutta, Colonel Gaddafi, John Paul II, Egyptian priest, rock star, Karl Marx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Marlene Dietrich, Sigmund Freud and Jesus.

Before 2006 he created almost exclusively black and white analogous self-portraits, but included digital photography as natural development of his artistic evolution, publishing his photo and video performances, as well as composed music, on You Tube and Facebook.
