Camae Ayewa (aka Moor Mother) is a musician and poet from Philadelphia, United States. Her work has been labelled „hardcore poetry,” „power electronics,” „slaveship punk,” and „protest music.” Ayewa herself resists categorization, preferring to self-identify through terms such as „time traveller” and „truth teller.” A self-described Afrofuturist, she uses spacetime-bending sound and lyricism to reformulate concepts of memory, history, and the future in an afrocentric or afrodiasporictradition. Ayewa is one half of the Black Quantum Futurism collective, along with Rasheedah Phillips of the Afrofuturist Affair. She has performed in the punk band The Mighty Paradocs, and is also the co-founder of Rockers! Philly, an „event series and festival focused on marginalized artists”.In June 2016, Ayewa and Phillips opened the Community Futures Lab, an „afrofuturist community center” in North Philadelphia where they lead workshops and teach-ins, provide space for artistic practice, and fight gentrification in the area.

Ultra-red pursue a fragile but dynamic exchange between art. And political organizing. Founded in 1994 by two AIDS acvivists, Ultra-red have over the years expanded to include artists, researchers and organisers from different social movements including the struggles of migration, anti-racism, participatory community development, and tthe politics of HIV/AIDS. Collectively, the group has produced radio broadcasts, performances, recordings, installations, texts and public space actions. Exploring acoustic space as ennunciative of social relations, Ultr-ed take up the acoustic mapping of contested spaces and histories utilising sound-based research (termed Militant Sound Investigations) that directly engage the organizing and analyses of political struggles. Ultra-red’s ten assocations in North America and Europe work within a variety of ambiances conducting Militant Sound investigations of the spaces of needle exchange, public sex, public housing, resistance to global capitalism, labor, anti-racism and migration struggles.
