Architectural guide book about Warsaw «Architekturführer Warschau»
The Berlin based company „Dom Publishers“ recently published an architectural guide book about Warsaw: «Architekturführer Warschau». Grzegorz Piątek will discuss with the two authors, Hans Wolfgang Hoffmann and Werner Huber, about their work with the city. How they rate the architecture in Warsaw in general? How do they see the tendencies in Polish architecture? What characterises the contemporary architecture in Warsaw?
Interesting are also the two different perspectives of the two authors: Hans Wolfgang Hoffmann just recently started to work on Warsaw, so he has like a snapshot a fresh view on the contemporary city. Werner Huber on the other side does his researches for already 30 years. Therefore he has his focus on the changes the city has seen in the past decades.
Hans Wolfgang Hoffmann, Berlin (b. 1970) is an architect with a focus on urban sociology. He widely published in professional magazines and newspapers about urbanism and architecture. He is the author of several architectural guides and books about Berlin.
Werner Huber, Zurich (b. 1964) is an architect and an editor of „Hochparterre“, the Swiss monthly for architecture and design. Since his first visit in Warsaw in 1986 he works on the architecture of this city and widely published about in magazines, newspapers and books.
Grzegorz Piątek (b.1980) is architecture critic and curator. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of Warsaw University of Technology. Member of the Foundation Centrum Architektury. Author of many publications and articles on architecture, urbanism and design.
