Before A Levels – the analysis of works of art
Classes for this year’s high-school graduates

  • Before A Levels – the analysis of works of art

Students of high schools and vocational schools (especially those who take their A-level exams this year) are invited to participate in classes on a multidimensional “reading” of art.

We will use some of the paintings by Andrzej Wróblewski as a basis for a profound examination of painting techniques. The thematic scope of our meeting, however, will exceed the current “Recto/Verso” exhibition. We will take a close look at the language of modern art in the “Lest The Two Seas Meet” exhibition as well as visit the poster exhibition in order to explore the plastic means of this artistic form, giving our participants a unique opportunity to get to know one of the most important cultural phenomenon of the post-war reality.

The meetings main objective is to practice building a statement, an analysis or an interpretation, formulating one’s own opinion and justifying it. The participants will get acquainted with the basic terms to describe a work of art. Together we will interpret the works from the perspective of their main topics – a perfect excuse for an exam revision.
