Double opening
“Private Settings. Art After the Internet” | “Maria Bartuszová. Provisional Forms.”

  • Double opening

Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is pleased to invite you to a double opening night: “Private Settings. Art After the Internet” and “Maria Bartuszová. Provisional Forms.”

Maria Bartuszová (1936-1996) was a Slovak sculptress, little known to the public. She was discovered by a broader audience in 2007 during Documenta 12 in Kassel. Ever since, her works have begun to appear on international exhibitions, some of them have found their way to prestigious contemporary art collections, but Bartuszová’s art has never gained real attention. This exhibition seeks to write the history yet unwritten and to show the artist’s struggle to find a new artistic language.

On the other hand, the exhibition „Private Settings. Art After the Internet” is a collective exposition of works created by artists born in the 1980s and 1990s. Its aim is to look for answers to the question of how the experience of identity and social interaction is shaped in the times of technological progress and continuous contact with the new media.

Programme:

19.00 – opening of the exhibitions to the public
19.30 – performance of the DIS collective
20.00 – performance: Korakrit Arunonandchai, Boychild, Bangkok Boys
21.30 – DJ sets of artists whose works are presented on the ”Privacy Setup” exhibition: Daniel Keller, Hannah Perry, Jon Rafman and Gregor Różański (WIXAPOL S.A.)

All events are taking place in the ”Emilia” pavilion, ul. Emilii Plater 51.
