    Entr'Acte, dir. René Clair

MinoTAur Cinema is a unique place created especially for the duration of the Warsaw Under Construction festival.

One of the ateliers at Inżynierska 3 in Praga district has been transformed into an intimate cinema. The labyrinth of backstreets will transfer ardent seekers to the magical world of Bergman's masters, witches and French Surrealism.

Entr’acte
directed by René Clair, France, 1924, 22 mins.

A self-ironic, Dadaistic film created by René Clair that makes scintillating fun of ballet written by Francis Picabia. Following “cinéma pur” assumptions, it lacks a logical chain of events and consists of loose, aesthetically explicit and incoherent fragments.

Ballet Mécanique
directed by Fernand Léger, Dudley Murphy, France, 1924, 16 mins.

Fernand Léger’s fascinating attempt at a subjective confrontation with art through film. Dudley Murphy, Man Ray and Fernand Léger’s cooperation allowed to create a plastically amazing work – despite the lack of a coherent plot – that allows interested viewers to grasp the paths of perception of French avant-garde pioneers.

Emak-Bakia
directed by Man Ray, France, 1926, 18 mins.

A film by a superb American director and photographer, celebrated as one of the main representatives of Dadaism. In this movie Man Ray applied self-made film techniques, such as photogram, double exposure or fuzziness achieved through blurring the picture.
