  • Experiment

Experiment is the driver of all development – from incessant evolution of the DNA double helix to the shaping of culture and society through the rebellion of the younger generation.

During the meeting, two young architects – Agata Woźniczka and Maciej Zawadzki – will talk about an experiment carried out in the architect’s workshop in times of global exchange of information. They will enquire whether the readily available collective knowledge helps us avoid making the same mistakes again or maybe it encourages us to search further. The hosts will refer to their experiences in Poland and abroad.

Is the fact that cultures, languages and traditions permeate with one another a driving force behind new typologies, spatial relations and baffling interpretations of traditional patterns? Does the readily available collective knowledge help us avoid making the same mistakes again or maybe it encourages us to search further? Can the architect – the representative of the profession of public trust – afford to experiment using someone else’s money? On the other hand, can society afford lack of such experiments, which will result in a threat of stagnation?
