On the Children’s Day, the Museum offers a rich programme of activities for children and adolescents and invites to the premiere of the new publication for children – “Guide around the Collection”, accompanying the event.

The programme includes, among others: family workshops, a museum game for the youngest, “expert” workshops and family tours of current exhibitions. Activities for several age groups (3-6, 6-9, 9-12).

We also prepared gifts for the youngest guests – each child who comes to the Museum on that day will be given a copy of our guide. Also the eMeSeN café and the Bookoff bookstore prepared surprises for the youngest customers! The first issue of the guide accompanied the “In the Heart of the Country” exhibition and is also available online at artmuseum.pl. Illustrated by Michalina Rolnik.

Agenda:

12.00 p.m. – 1.30 p.m. – Creatures and monsters from Moderartland. Museum game for children aged 3-6.

Far, far away, there is a kingdom of which no one knows, called the Moderartland. Maybe you already know who rules this land? It is king Moderart, who has just called all his subjects to the annual meeting. But... oh horrors! The creatures from Moderartland love to play tricks and get up all sorts of mischief, so they hid among the Museum’s white walls. Can you help the king in the search? Play with us!

The game will be conducted by Urszula Sawicka – graduate in theatre studies of the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw and student of media and artistic education at the UW Faculty of Pedagogy. Holds educational workshops in the Centre of Contemporary Art as well as theatre classes in one of the Warsaw primary schools. Author of a blog about culture and education,  moko1620.blogspot.com.

12.30 p.m. – 1.30 p.m. – Colourful emotions – family workshops for children aged 6-9 and their minders.

During the family workshops, the participants will learn the basic palette of colours, emotions that can be triggered by exhibits and the role of colours in life and artistic activity.

The work will result in a variation on seasons of the year. It is not a course on history of art, but practical classes which guarantee real contact with art. It is a form of joint, family discovering of the world of modern art that might have seemed strange and inaccessible before.

The workshops will be held by Karolina Weber – student of the history of art, organizer of cultural activities and teacher, who finds the Museum’s collection a good pretext for creative cooperation between children and parents.

1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.- Intervention! Collective artistic action in the passage on Pańska. Workshops for everyone.

The activities will be led by Karolina Żyniewicz – visual artist, graduate of the Faculty of Visual Art of the Władysław Strzemińki Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

2.00 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. – Colours of the City / Colours of the Village – workshops for children aged 9-12.

The workshops will be devoted to such notions as: what are the colours of the city we live in? Is it grey and gloomy or vibrant with life and colours? We will try to make a panorama of the city. But before we do it together, we are going to set off on a trip to the village. We will find there fantastic ways to enliven the everyday landscape, which we will then use in our city!

The workshops will be held by Paulina Paul – student of history of art and with a passion for vintage automotive. In her academic work, she is devoted to the problems of the profession of curator.

2.00 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. – Young expert workshops accompanying the premiere of a new guide for children. For children aged 6-9.

We invite you to set out on a trip to the world of art! Our guide will make you become a real expert on the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. And, at the same time, you will have the chance to become a collector! The cards which we prepared for you are just the beginning of our adventure…

The workshops will be held by Katarzyna Witt and Iga Fijałkowska – co-authors and editors of texts in the Guide.
