Agnieszka Polska | Stara Rzeka
The concert as part of \"As You Can Hear\" and \"The Museum Enters the Square\" series

  • Agnieszka Polska | Stara Rzeka

A common project of Agnieszka Polska and Kuba Ziołek (Stara Rzeka), which is a follow-up of the cooperation that began during the making of the film Future Days.

Future Days is a movie that was shot in the summer of 2013, during Agnieszka Polska’s stay on the Swedish island of Gotland as part of the Baltic Arts Centre grant. It presents a phantasmagorical picture of heaven inhabited by late artists, representatives of the XX-century neo avant-garde, who deprived of the fear of death and obscurity are going through a creative block. A musical layer of the film is the work of, among others, Kuba Ziołek of Stara Rzeka.

During the evening on the Parade Square Kuba Ziołek will perform live to an exclusive visual material prepared by Agnieszka Polska, which had been removed from the final version of Future Days.

Agnieszka Polska (born 1985), creates films, animations and photos. She makes use of archival sources or fabricated visual materials that imitate paintings from decades ago. The topic of her works is often the history of art – particularly from the 1960s and 1970s – its myths, unverifiable legends as well as mechanisms of memory, amnesia and denial in systems used to build art canons.

Kuba Ziołek, guitarist, composer, producer. Co-founder of numerous music projects, e.g. Hokei, T’ien Lai and Stara Rzeka, whose album Cień chmury nad ukrytym polem, released last year by Instant Classic label, enjoyed excellent reviews from Polish and foreign music critics.
