  • Michał Budny, Air, 2003

The piece Air is a three-dimensional puzzle which tells the story of the relationship of two men. The blue and red elements are models of houses, and the grey represents the air surrounding them. In reality, the two buildings are thousands of kilometres apart: one a block of flats in Warsaw, the other a tenement building in New York. They are separated by blocks of air, and are only connected by a friendship based on close correspondence, since the artist and his friend have never met.
