Sharon Hayes (born 1970)

Sharon Hayes is an American performer and activist based in New York. The starting point for her art is public events: protests, demonstrations, political speeches, and recordings of the pseudo-trials of Guantanamo prisoners. The artist references the pacifist lobby, mass movements to defend civil liberties and equal rights, and calls for freedom of speech, which reached their climax in 1960s America.
