Jimmy Robert (born 1975)
Jimmy Robert (born 1975 in Guadeloupe) is a conceptual artist. He combines performance with visual arts (including, in particular, photography and videos), making attempts to deconstruct or contest the disciplinary boundaries between the media. In his works Robert raises issues related to the body: its representation, memory and visibility, at the same time referring to the narrative strategies borrowed from post-modernistic literature, which is based on subjective vision of history and readjusts from the logical, chronological plot.
