Gustav Metzger (born 1926)

Gustav Metzger is an artist and political activist who created the concepts of Auto-Destructive Art and Strike Art. The son of Polish orthodox Jews, he wound up in Great Britain in 1939 thanks to the Refugee Children Movement, thus avoiding the Holocaust. He is currently stateless, and lives and works in London.
