Emanating the style of a monochrome documentary, Sensitisation to Colour marks Agnieszka Polska’s attempt at a reconstruction of Włodzimierz Borowski’s performance, presented under the same title at Poznań’s Galeria Od Nowa in 1968.
The coloured, painting-based space, which Borowski generated as the backdrop of his performance, is reconstructed by Polska on the basis of preserved monochrome photographs. By adding a shade of grey and multiplying errors in the narration of the film, the artist manifests the impossibility of reconstructing artistic activities.
