In Impressions, the camera observes a woman’s body at close distance. The fragmentary shots blur the boundaries of the body, which makes it somewhat abstract and poetic. The parts of the body exposed in front of the camera are presented as a source of fun and erotic pleasure: you can shake them, squeeze them and stick them out. The overtly erotic character of the film is amplified by the white fluid running down the breasts of the model – “painting substitute of eroticism”.
