Grzegorz Kowalski (born 1942)
Grzegorz Kowalski is a sculptor, performer, creator of installations, teacher, art critic, and essayist. After graduating from the sculpture department of Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 1965, he was an assistant in Oskar Hansen’s Planes and Solid Figures Studio and Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz’s sculpture studio. Oskar Hansen’s Open Form theory influenced his understanding of the relations between artists and audiences, and works and their settings.
