Raqs Media Collective. The Capital of Accumulation
Exhibition opening

As part of The Promised City project, the Raqs Media Collective from Mumbai produced a video installation with sounds, texts and archive material on site in Warsaw, Berlin and Mumbai.

Following a narrative structure about Rosa Luxemburg and her work The Accumulation of Capital, Raqs develops a combined economic, political, social and urban story that could have happened in 20th century Berlin, Mumbai and Warsaw.

Raqs Media Collective (Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula & Shuddhabrata Sengupta) has been described as a collective of artists, media practitioners, curators, editors and catalysts of cultural processes. Their work, which has been exhibited widely in major international spaces and events, locates them at the intersections of contemporary art, historical enquiry, philosophical speculation, research and theory – often taking the form of installations, online and offline media objects, performances and encounters.
