1989-1991 (601-650/728)
The years 1989-1991 were a period when Zbigniew Libera grounded his position of an independent artist and experimentator. He focuses on video works (during this time he makes, among others, „Gumki“, „Spark“, „Truszkowski in Dusseldorf“, „Teofilów '90.”, “Culture of Gathering“, „Stella maris“, „Bather“). He also creates installations: „Chimneys“, „Hammer“, „Cross“, „Gate“, „Christus ist mein Leben“, „Untitled (monstrance)“. There are numerous presentations of his work, among others in Łódź, Zielona Góra, Lublin, Southampton, Bonn, Dresden. Articles about his work are published in the press.
Important element of of his life which influenced his artistic activity was a trip to North Africa and Israel from Noovember 1989 till May 1990. During that trip he made over 900 photos and over 100 sketches and drawings of Middle East heritage. The trip, which was to be the end of his artistic activity, provoked his further activity, which resulted in his participation in "Bakunin in Dresden"exhibition already in 1990.
