„Libera - Furniture Piece“ is another work oscillating around bodily subjects Libera transforms his body into a piece of furniture – a functional object, devoid of any spiritual sphere. Intimate act of masturbation is transformed into a performance, privacy is being transported to the level of a public event.
Masturbation in this work gains self-destructive features, just like in a few others (“Dummies”, “Home performance”). Masturbation and suicide are frequent motives in Libera's work, being, according to Dorota Monkiewicz, a mirror to intrinsic to the artist Freudian death drive.
