Exhibition in "Strych" Gallery, 1982. (1-15/15)

On the June 8th 1982 at the Attic gallery an inauguration of first individual Zbigniew Libera exhibition took place. In a leaflet we read: My name is Zbyszek Libera. So says my ID. Just like you, I belong to this nation, this history, this state. This fact determines my all actions. Its verbalistic force, repressiveness force defensive reactions. They are an attempt of an escape, of finding my own language. Beyond that there's just knowing your own weakness. I act.”

the exhibition consisted of rectos and versos of postards presented next to one another. Rectos present German actors and actresses of the Nazi period and versos show children's drawings. Those potcards were found by Libera at the attic of his family home in Pabianice. He didn;t know where they were from, who they belonged to, so he could consciously give them a new form. Their history was erased and created anew.
