Zbigniew Libera's collection (51-100/155)

Important element of Zbigniew Libera's art is research: for subject, materials, comosition, form. Libera describes an artist as a gatherer (who collects objects, photos, emotions, feelings, memories, people). Collecting is an important device supporting posing of questions and theses, or sometimes simply form of entertainment for emotions. The collection consists only of objects and documents which took artist's interest, but of which he's not an author.

Part of the collection are pictures from Pabianice's family home, with members of his family and friends of the house. Other materials are press cuttings, article, old postcards found, among others, at family home attic or pre-war documents of artist's grandmother.

Zbigniew Libera's collection allows us to see a long-burning process, which helped preparation of emotional and aesthetical ground for his future work. It was his first step to find his own aesthetics and presentation of interesting motives. The collection does not contain ready works, or even sketches for specific artistic artivities, but its builds its own aesthetics and sensitivity, which glimpse can be perceived in artist's work.
