HONORATA MARTIN, THE BALCONY, 2015 (1-4/4)

On the spring of 2015 Honorata Martin has hung with her arms outside of four balconies in Gdańsk.

„Stogi, Wrzeszcz, Zaspa districts. The order of the balconies reflects rhythmical, ordered life of human termite nest. Some loggias are distinct by the color of the barrier, as their tenants would prefer to live in an own house – similar to the one, in which they have just spent holidays in the mountains, lying on a terrace under the umbrella with a logo of a brewery sponsoring the latest championship. Some balconies have satellite antennas on them, prowling space abyss and listening to television broadcasts. (…) Sweaters and trousers hanging outside look like someone dropped out of them. Several floors above, Honorata hangs. Her strong fingers hold the metal of the barrier, which does not let to be hold, as it is thick and cold. It is not possible to stand this long”.
