Performance by Zbigniew Warpechowski formed part the exhibition Works and Words at De Appel in Amsterdam.

Zbigniew Warpechowski: 'I've got three light bulbs here (one big and two small). As there's plenty of space around, I can create a luminous line by running around with a lit light bulb, and make other figures to finish with a circle of light, which grows as I loosen the light bulb wire. Then, I make friction movements with the bulbs. They crash. There’s only one big bulb left.

I have another light bulb hanging on a long wire from the ceiling to right above the floor. I swing the bulb and stand between the pendulum and the wall. A large shadow of myself appears, the swinging light of the bulb makes it look like a hanged man because the shadow of my legs swings further than the shadow of my head. The pendulum stops. I step on the light bulb. The end.'
