Description by Filmoteka Muzeum

Hamlet is situated within the “analytical” current of Azorro’s practice, which embraces works devoted to the analysis of the formal properties of the medium (video) and experiments with its constitutive elements. The structure of the film relies on the juxtaposition of the image and the sound emitted from contrasting sources.

Scenes of fooling around are confronted with a lofty declamation of fragments of a piece by Shakespeare. Even though the division into roles has been preserved, the combination of two entirely different sources brings about an upsetting dissonance.
