Description by Filmoteka Muzeum

Strolling about the galleries of the Louvre, Azorro artists admire the masterpieces of painting. But something always “seems to be wrong” with the paintings, known from countless reproductions and postcards.

Though highly humorous, the artists’ doubts inevitably lead to the question about the way paintings function in mass culture. Their ubiquitous and recurring reproductions make us over-confident about the capacity of our memory, therefore we insist that the images we retain are more authentic than the actual originals.
