In the late 1960s the artist began his life-performance entiteld The Art of Shoes - The Art of Trousers - The Art of Andrzej Dudek-Dürer (Living Sculpture), continued to this day. The artist's shoes - worn uninterruptedly since 1969, repaired, mended, glued - are an intergral part of his identity.
So are his trousers, the same pair that has been in the artist's life for several decades. The elements of the "costume" worn by Dudek-Dürer with great consistency are organically linked to the idea of "living sculpture". Wherever the artist happens to be, his life performance goes on. Dudek-Dürer presence offers an opportunity to encounter a transcendent mystery.
