Elżbieta and Emil Cieślar ”Points”, 1968 (1-3/3)

Elżbieta and Emil Cieślar's exhibition took place in April, 1968. The artists were both graduates of The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and former students of Oskar Hansen's, an architect, theorist and the creator of the open form.

The show consisted of a lighting installation that influenced the viewers’ perception. Five black screens (120cm x 120 cm each) were set up. All of the screens had a different number of holes cut out in them. A specially designed mechanism controlled not only the lights' intensity, but also the frequency of their activation.

(The exhibition was accompanied by a publication in Polish and English)
