Stipendium fur Politiker, Olafur Eliasson (1-1/1)

"Politics is the art of the possible, Art is the politics of the impossible"

(Politik ist die Kunst des Möglichen, Kunst ist die Politik des Unmöglichen)

The Institut für Raumexperimente (Institute for Spatial Experiments), a research programme affiliated with the Berlin University of Arts (UdK) and directed by the artist Olafur Eliasson, is offering a fellowship to a politician from Berlin for a period of six months, starting on 1 April 2012. The fellowship, which is unpaid, offers participation in all seminars and events of the institute in the summer semester of 2012.

The fellowship aims to create direct dialogue between political and artistic practices through a critical exchange arising from shared everyday experiences. Ways of thinking and acting creatively, as well as social commitment in art and politics, are to be explored throughout the programme.

The fellowship is available to all members of the Berlin Senate and to members of parliament, including their employees in the expert committees.
The Institut für Raumexperimente is an educational research project affiliated with the Faculty of Fine Arts at the UdK Berlin. It is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Science and Research.
