Since the mid-nineteenth century, photography has been closely related to the city and its architecture. Not only does it document the current state, but it also allows for a better perspective of dynamic changes in the landscape of modern metropolis.
Throughout the most recent decades, architectural photography remained one of the last areas dominated by a narrow group of professionals, closely cooperating with architectural studios and construction developers. In their job, architectural photographers have moved further away from documentary sources and come closer to the world of virtual fantasies, thanks to the digital revolution. During our discussions with leading experts in architectural photography, and artists at the same time, based on real-life examples, we will be dealing with the issues of theory and practice, market realities and architectural fantasies, as well as how much it is all related to art.
