What is the institutional status of sound-art in Poland? How are sound works perceived in galleries?

Although the union of art and sound in Poland dates back to the early 1980s, no gallery devoted to sound-art specifically, like the Berlin Mobile Sound Gallery or the Experimental Sound Gallery in Petersburg, has been established here. What lies behind such state of affairs? Is sound treated by visual artists as a short adventure merely peripheral to their work? Can we speak about sound artists in Poland at all?

The Filmoteka Museum of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to a discussion with Łukasz Jastrubczak who worked, among others, with the Boring Drug band and was a member of the Krzysztofjastrubczakłukaszkaczmarek Group with Krzysztof Kaczmarek. The discussion will be held by Łukasz Strzelczyk from the “Trzecia Fala” /"Third Wave"/ Association of Creative Initiatives.
