Workshops at the Bródno Sculpture Park

  • The way to one’s heart is through their stomach

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw together with Mama Foundation invite children aged 3 to 9 for workshops in the Bródno Sculpture Park.

Can such prosaic activities as a common meal, having tea or giving out candies be a work of art? Actually, why do we perceive and admire art using sight and hearing, but not taste?
Contemporary artists transgress boundaries and take into consideration all the senses. One of them is Rikrit Tiravanija, who in his exhibitions will give his guests tea and red or green curry only to spill tones of breakfast cereals at a museum at another occasion.

During the workshops we will have a chance to talk with the artists who utilize food in their work and try to figure what they are doing. We will also reflect on whether common meals can earn the title of “art.” We cordially welcome to a culinary journey through contemporary art.

We assemble at the Tea House created by Rikrit Tiravanija. Parents may participate in the play together with their children or take a walk through the Bródno Sculpture Park full of curious objects.

Registration required.
