Let’s settle accounts with space WARSAW UNDER CONSTRUCTION 5
Municipal authorities claim that spatial planning is too expensive for them. Although, in the long run, it helps to increase tax revenues and property values, initially, all the costs are paid from the local government budget.
And although we do realise that public space generates costs and benefits, we are not generally aware of any specific figures or numbers that could help us understand the nature of the issue. The problem is even more serious when it comes to social costs and benefits - although the issue is increasingly topical, calculations are performed rarely. Therefore, during our seminar, we are going to settle accounts with public space – both in financial and social terms, and we will try to understand the facts and mechanisms behind them.
