Bródno Sculpture Park. Chapter I
Paweł Althamer, Olafur Eliasson, Monika Sosnowska and Rirkrit Tiravanija

Bródno Sculpture Park was conceived by the local autorithies of a "difficult" Warsaw residential district, impressed by the outcomes of various social sculptures organized by Paweł Althamer, internationally acclaimed Polish artists who happens to live in Bródno. Jointly they envisioned an invasion of artistic projects in a rather dull Bródno Park.

Paweł Althamer proposed the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw as a coordinator and artistic supervisor. He also proposed the first artists to participate in the Sculpture Park project, planned to expand in the coming years. Those are Monika Sosnowska, Olafur Eliasson and Rirkrit Tiravanija. They all contributed their projects: Monika Sosnowska - a iron sphere 4 meters in diameter, inspired by the bars protecting windows and doors in the neighbourhood, Olafur Eliasson - a work titled Negative Glacial Caleidoscope, and Rirkrit Tiravanija a tilted overturned teahouse with the coffee maker. Paweł Althamer himself organized The Garden of Eden - a garden designed after drawings delivered by children from the neighbouring elementary schools.
