The double opening of the "Recto / Verso 1948-1949, 1956–1957" Exhibition of Andrzej Wróblewski and "Lest the Two Seas Meet" Exhibition will be held on 12th February 2015 at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

It presents Andrzej Wróblewski's rich artistic output and centres on two key moments of his work. It is also the crowning of a long and detailed research project (conference and seminar).

Éric de Chassey, the curator of the exhibition, is a prominent scholar of post-war painting, the director of the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici and a professor of the history of modern art at the École normale supérieure in Lyon. The Exhibition was organised in cooperation with the Queen Sofia Arts Center in Madrid, to where it shall be later moved after its close at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

The contemporary context for the Wróblewski's works is the "Lest the two seas meet" exhibition curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh. The exhibition features works by artists from the Middle and Far East as well as from Europe, whose main focus is an artistic commentary to the armed conflict and the trauma and distress that it entails.
