NIWEA Can Wojtek go out now? No he can’t. He’s not here
On Saturday, July 6, the Polish band Niwea will perform at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
Known for the raw, cold-wave sound filtered through the mood of stairways and corridors of Poznań council estates, Niwea will perform for the first time in the monochromatic spaces of the Emilia building, in the auditorium surrounded by the characteristic terrazzo stairs.
Niwea is Wojciech Bąkowski and Dawid Szczęsny – they will create a cool, existentialist mood on level -1 at the Museum’s seat. The performance, to take place among the exhibition collection works, will performatively complement the context of “the heart of the country” – the hole, the void, the phantasm of and physical maturity and fulfillment.
