MinoTAur Cinema is a unique place created especially for the duration of the Warsaw Under Construction festival.

One of the ateliers at Inżynierska 3 in Praga district has been transformed into an intimate cinema. The labyrinth of backstreets will transfer ardent seekers to the magical world of Bergman's masters, witches and French Surrealism.

A Page of Madness (Kurutta ippêji)
directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa, Japan, 1926, 60 mins.

As a result of the vortices of history, this expressionist film disappeared and was deemed lost for the Japanese culture. Nearly half a century later a copy lacking one-third of the initial material was miraculously found. The work was immediately immortalised in the Japanese and global film canon afterwards. It does not contain text boards – in Japan of 1920s, apart from live music, the screenings were accompanied by Benshi, i.e. narrators who recited the text and provided onomatopoeic effects. Teeming with symbols and allegories, the film, whose plot is located in a mental asylum, has astounded viewers with filming precision and editing dynamics ever since.
