MinoTAur Cinema is a unique place created especially for the duration of the Warsaw Under Construction festival.
One of the ateliers at Inżynierska 3 in Praga district has been transformed into an intimate cinema. The labyrinth of backstreets will transfer ardent seekers to the magical world of Bergman's masters, witches and French Surrealism.
A film story based on an ancient Swedish legend. A person who dies on the New Year’s Eve must work as a driver of Death’s cart carrying the souls of the dead for the whole next year. The movie uses numerous special effects; retrospection and double exposure have been mastered to perfection. Owing to this movie, Sjöström gained notoriety worldwide, strengthened the position of the „Swedish School” and a legendary AB Svensk Industri label. It is also worth mentioning the influence “The Phantom Carriage” had on Ingmar Bergman’s work – the master paid his tribute to his fellow countryman and teacher by making “The Seventh Seal.”
