Cinema and emotions
Lecture by Raymond Bellour

As part of the research project „Zwrot afektywny po 1989 roku” (“Affective turn after the year 1989”) carried out by Zespół do Badań nad Literaturą i Kulturą Późnej Nowoczesności IBL PAN, a lecture by Raymond Bellour will be held, in order to reflect on the relationship between the filmic form and the affective experience of an image by the viewers.

We will refer to the selected examples from international cinematography, as well as question diverse theories concerning the emotions in the cinema, showing the inner complications of the image and its perception, which are the key to understand the liveliness of the cinema medium.

The lecture will be held in English.
