After architect Thomas Phifer's designs for the new Museum of Modern Art and TR theater quarters were presented last fall, they caused a heated debate on the future of the smaller, reconstructed plac Defilad.

Should it be a classic, metropolitan city square or should it be a recreational area? Does the current development plan meet the citizens’ expectations? How much - and what kind of - greenery do we need in this kind of space? What should we do with the architectural elements that surround the Palace of Science and Culture? How can we make sure the future square is not spoiled by infrastructural elements of an underground car park that will be built beneath it? Those are some of the questions City Hall representatives, urban planners, architects and city activists will try to answer.

Guests will include: deputy mayor Jarosław Jóźwiak, architects: Michał Borowski (author of the first development plan), Marlena Happach (president of the Association of Polish Architects), Magdalena Staniszkis (urban planner), Śródmieście district councilman Jan Śpiewak (Miasto Jest Nasze association) and Patryk Dominik Zaremba (Forum Rozwoju Warszawy)
