Where is Middle East? Culture mapping for the little ones

The weekend workshops for children, following the “Lest The Two Seas Meet” exhibition, is an invitation for the youngest viewers to explore the remote corners of the world.
The meetings seek to introduce the participants into such concepts as multiculturalism, tolerance as well as an open attitude towards the unknown.
During the workshops we will discover the meaning of the term “Middle East” as well as locate this area – one of the most problematic zones – on the map. The encounter with the Arabic culture will become a chance for us to observe how different nationalities and civilizations coexist in the world that surrounds us, and how the current global issues differ from our daily problems. The meeting is followed by a set of workshops based on the specific cultural contexts, aimed at developing the children’s’ imagination. Let us play with maps and build our own countries!
